East Anglia, especially the rivers Orwell and Stour, is now the most popular leisure sailing and boating area on the UK’s east coast incorporating some 10,000 yacht berths and 16 yacht clubs in the area.

Harwich Haven Authority must successfully balance the needs of commercial and recreational users in the harbour, and works closely with the local yachting community to achieve this through the Leisure Vessels Navigation Sub-Committee, and by producing annually more than 20,000 copies of The Yachting Guide to Harwich Harbour and its Rivers.
